The initial product is not exactly made out of paper… but the result consists to the biggest part of it (the wall is not reall counting I guess).
I love this simple but nevertheless great and beautiful chais designn by Florian KrembAnd considering the number of books and magazines I own I could easily sit a whole kindergarten!

upon a fold – shop of paper and folds

My new favourite store full with great paper products and Japanese design – and the name is an important part of the program: upon a fold! It’s really inspiring to see what can be made out of a simple sheet of paper and and a couple of folds (and laser cuts) – and a lot of thought!

Above are a couple of my favourites like the Fairy Tale Card/Garland, Broom Broom (not that I think it would help a lot on my desk), the World Ruler notepad and the Paper Blocks not only I, but my two-and-a-half-year niece would enjoy as well.

This is the kind of place I would love to see my jewellery one day so thanks Justine for opening it!

In case you don’t know when my birthday is yet – well, it’s only 89 days to go!
Oh, and make sure to check out the blog as well: upon a fold blog

Notebooks

Notebook-Shopping! I think that some more colourful notebooks instead of my old and always black ones will be really inspiring. And easier to find in my bag as well.
Current favourites include the notebooks by Archie Grand with 160 pages of finest paper – and alle kinds of statements! I especially like the “Artists I met and liked” – but would even prefer a “Craftspeople I met and liked”…

Luckily Archie Grand is available by mail order just like these lovely notebooks by Le Thé des Ecrivains. They are handmade in India – from the raw fibre to the finished notebook.

Next time in Paris I will have to stop by at their showroom to get one with the inscription “Je réalise un acte poétique” (I am performing a poetic deed).

Japanese Masking Tape

And while I was looking for balloons, I saw even more of fantastic Japanese masking tape. So perhaps I’ll have to reconsider the packaging of PaperPhine products. And I like the classical “Security Envelope Pattern Paper” the most (and the other one is just a nice idea!).

Lynn at satsuma press used the Japanese tape for the packaging of her calenders (very subtle – tape on half-transparent paper(?) – just gorgeous!)

More Balls … well, balloons!

It seems that I’m drawn to ball-shapes at the moment, especially those made out of paper, of course. I think these Japanese Paper Balloons would look beautiful in my studio – all over the walls and on the window sills. Of course they would look great in a flat as well, but I guess for somebody this is too colourfull (not for me, obviously).
