Paper Raffia Crochet Basket \u2013 Tutorial <\/strong>
\nWe crocheted the same basket pattern in our three different kinds of paper raffia (and we think they all turned out beautifully). We also used the same crochet hook for all three baskets to show you the difference between our different <\/p>\n

Supplies:<\/strong>
\nBiggest basket: made out of our \u201cclassic\u201d paper raffia.
\nYou\u2019ll need about 120m \/ 132 yards (0.14kg) – we used up our stash of differently colored leftovers.
\nMedium basket: made out of our Japanese manila hemp paper raffia Nm 2.1. You\u2019ll need about 90m \/ 100 yards (0.04kg)
\nSmall basket: made out of our thinner Japanese manila hemp paper raffia Nm 4.2. You\u2019ll need about 90m \/ 100 yard (0.02kg)<\/p>\n

Tools: <\/strong>
\nWe crocheted all three baskets with the same hook: EU 5mm \/ US H\/8 \/ Canada\/UK 6 <\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> the basket is worked entirely in a spiral. Except for round 1 the entire basket is worked in single crochet stitches. <\/p>\n

Round 1: ch4, join by sl st to first st to form ring, 12 sc in ring, join by sl st to first st. (12 sc)
\nRound 2: 2sc in each st around. (24 sts)
\nRound 3: 1sc in each st around (24 sts)
\nRound 4: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat between * (36)
\nRound 5: Round 3: 1sc in each st around (36 sts)
\nRound 6: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat between * (54 sts)
\nRounds 6-9: 1sc in each st around (54 sts)
\nRound 10: * 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat between * (72 sts)
\nRound 11-21: 1sc in each st around (72 sts)<\/p>\n

Decrease: <\/em><\/p>\n

Round 22: * 1sc in first st, 1sc in next st, 1sc in next st, skip one st * repeat between * (54 sts)
